The Official Laboratory for Testing of Construction Materials (LOEMCO) is a center with 2,000 m2 of modern facilities, dedicated to the testing of building materials. These facilities are located on the Politechnique University Campus in Getafe Technology Park.

The Testing activity is primarily focused on serving the construction industry, ensuring reliable results on compliance with the regulatory requirements of the products received. Additionally, it participates in innovative projects oriented to the development of new materials that respond to the challenges of our society.

Since its creation, 35 years ago, LOEMCO belongs to the E.T.S.I of Mines and Energy (UPM) and is currently managed by the Gómez Pardo Foundation.

The workforce of 22 people are dedicated to maintain a high level of quality in the service, which allows us to maintain, since 1989, an extensive scope of ENAC accreditation according to the ISO / IEC 17025 requirements for testing and calibration laboratories.

 

Our basics targets are:

  • Maintain a high level of QUALITY in the work and services provided, to ensure that the products tested meet all requirements and are safe for the end user.
  • Increase the volume of BUSINESS through the services provided, supporting R&D, focusing on the customer and collaborating with companies in the sector.
  • To offer TRAINING to the students of the E.T.S.I of Mines and Energy (UPM) from the most technical point of view related to the materials, as well as of professional experience through scholarships and the program of practices of the E.T.S.I of Mines and Energy (UPM) . Likewise, LOEMCO also prepares professionals in the sector with customized courses related to the quality control tests of the different products.
